Gusano Rojo Mezcal is one of the most popular mezcals in Mexico, and is made with 100% agave. Named Gusano Rojo (red worm) after the 'worm' that is sometimes found on the Agave plants used for the production of mezcal. Gusano Rojo Mezcal is produced in Santiago Matatlan using maguey Espadin (agave Angustifolia). It is double distilled and aged at least 2 months in oak and white oak casks before being bottled for distribution.
Please note that the bottle contains a (long-deceased) worm, and as such may not be suitable for vegetarians.
